All about Mrs. Kayla

Hello, My name is Kayla Gay.  I am studying for my Rank I for MSD at Eastern Kentucky University. I am in my third year of teaching Special Education at Mountain View Elementary.  I teach K-8 in the MSD Classroom. I graduated from EKU with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Sciences. Then, I graduated from the University of the Cumberlands with a Master’s Degree in P-12 LBD Special Education.

My vision for teaching Special Education is that ALL kids are included. As a teacher for Students with Moderate to Severe disabilities, my goal is to do everything that I can to make each student as successful as they can be in life.  Each student should be treated as an individual and the teacher should get to know the needs and interests of each of her students. As a teacher, I am also an advocate for these students when they are in my care at school. I will do everything that I possibly can to make sure that students are getting all of the proper services and modifications that they need at school.
